Squamidae
Pronunciation: skwa.mi.ˈdae̯
Etymology: from Latin squāma, meaning ‘scale’, + idae, a translingual suffix commonly used in taxonomy to denote a subclass of family.
Squamidae magions are characterized by having scale covered skin. Like in non-magical biology, the scales of squamidae magions differ in size and thickness, ranging from thin scales, similar to those of fish, to thick large scales that resemble an armor or shell.
