Danai (Dan) and her twin, Kasper have only become agents recently and, despite being born with supernatural abilities, are new to the magical community and the existence of magic in general. Danai hss an energetic and vibrant personality, though some describe her as loud and obnoxious. Part of this vibrancy was developed over the years to take attention off her more shy and reserved twin. Kasper's abilities tended to attract attention even before his appearance changed, and he was never very good at handling it. Danai always saw herself as his protector, something he occasionally expressed concern about. Not because he wasn't grateful or thought he didn't need the help, but because he was afraid she is focusing too much on him instead of on her own wishes.
Danai and her brother are not aware of any magic-folk ancestry in their family, but they were born with spirit awareness abilities. Danai is a Sensative, capable of sensing the presence of spirits. Like most Sensatives, she usually cannot see or hear the spirits and, if it wasn't for her brother's sight, she probably would not know how to interpret the sensations. However, Kasper's ability to see and communicate with the spirits allowed Danai to hone her understanding of her own ability to a rare level, and she can generally not only feel the presence of the spirit, but also infer their intentions.
The twins were born in Germany, but when they were 11 the family moved to the United States. This was in large part because an extreme spirit encounter Danai and Kasper experienced changed Kasper's appearance to resemble albino. The dramatic change affected his reception by others, and the family felt homeschooling would be the best choice, but it was not possible in Germany. When they reached high school age, Kasper remained homeschooled while Danai, with his strong encouragement, enrolled in an arts high school.
Danai and her brother were invited to become Magiontology Society agents after a chance meeting with Griffin and Mabyn during which Kasper's abilities became evident. Danai was reluctant at first, unsure whether they can trust these strangers with their secrets, but she soon realized that the Society was pretty much the only group of people they did not have to hide their abilities from. Besides, they said they could meet dragons and you don't say no to dragons!

And she knows it too… which can be annoying. But she’s my sister, being annoying is part of her job (she’s very good at it heh).”
