Autumnal garland
Hi everyone,
Today I shared this video of making a quick and fun autumn leaf garland, that can be used for seasonal decor (or as an accessory! I had a lot of fun wearing it in this month’s magiontology video :) ).
What I like about this garland is that it can be easily adjusted for different uses just by wrapping it around an object, from a napkin to a tray, it can bring some color, texture and interest to any room. Here are some ideas I had for it:
Decorate a candle
(LED candle, for obvious reasons…)
Decorate a tray or serving dish
Just wrap it through the handles or tie it around with a little bow
Wrap it as a napkin holder
You can also make a shorter version of the garland (maybe with a colorful cord?) and tie a lovely bow to close it around the napkin
The best part about this design is that it can easily be adjusted for a different style. It can easily be done in greens for a spring feel, and maybe add some flowers too! You could also use winter foliage for Christmas… the possibilities are limitless, I’d love to hear your ideas :)
For now though, here’s a list of what I used in this autumnal version, so here it is!
Papers: distress mixed media heavystock, distress white heavystock, distress kraft heavystock
Distress oxide spray: frayed burlap
Distress inks: mustard seed, fossilized amber, barn door, aged mahogany
Distress ink reinker: crackling campfire
Distress oxide ink: crackling campfire
Stamps: Tim Holtz nature’s wonder (CMS343) & Pressed foliage (CMS376)
Distress embossing glazes: rusty hinge, walnut stain, crackling campfire
Thanks for visiting!
